This was our first Benchrest match at Bell City, and after 6months of preparation that long awaited day finally came. We had a great turnout with shooters from Vermont, Pennsylvania, New York, and Connecticut all coming out to show their support. I can’t thank them enough for traveling so far for this my first match. It was a hot and humid day with just enough mirage, and a twitchy breeze to throw some of the competitors off their game. Mr. Clark Shen was steady as rock which was more than could be said for his bench (Mr. Shen drew one of two remnants from a bygone era at Bell City that we are hoping to replace in the near future), and he managed a 250-21x which will stand as our range record for now. Dr. Bill Sargent came down from Vermont to make sure everything went well and managed to DOMINATE the competition in the Hunter class, also setting a range record…. We had a good turnout for our factory and semi custom classes which I predict will be more popular once word gets out. All in all, for the first match in CT in a long time and my first attempt at running them, it went pretty well. I hope to see all the competitors back next month when we do it all over again.
