Benchrest Seminar

Lee Martin News

Once again this coming April 14, 2024 Bob White and I will be putting on a Benchrest clinic at the Cherry Ridge Gun Club in Highland Lakes, NJ. This will be our eighteenth year of this type of clinic. The first session will be classroom where Bob and I and maybe a guest speaker will discuss things from the history of organized Benchrest, the types of competition, types of rifles used, reloading, rests, tuning and wind reading plus much more. There will be plenty of time to get all your questions answered. The second session will be a shooting clinic where you can have your choice of shooting a Score or Group target.
Over the years this clinic has been a very big success because we have started students that have went on to be IBS Rookie of the year, became a match director holding IBS registered matches at their range and over twenty shooters that regularly attend registered matches. We are working on prizes for the raffle for the participants the drawing. Anyone interested in attending please contact Bob White at The Shooters Corner 973-663-5159 or Harley Baker at 610-496-6768.
All are welcome from those that just want to check it out, to the beginning shooter that wants to get better or to the seasoned pro who is looking for that nugget to take them to the next level.
Thank you. Harley Baker

2020 IBS Group Nationals

News

All,

On June 15, 2002 the IBS Executive Board and Group Committee reluctantly decided to CANCEL the 2020 Group Nationals. The Mainville (PA) Sportsman's Club board of directors denied the use of its clubhouse for the scheduled early August Nationals. Significant effort was expended to move the Group Nationals, but no other viable options were left. Other range venues were considered (such as Dublin, St. Louis and Fairchance) but each had serious drawbacks that could not be overcome. The goal of the IBS is to have a quality match that is well-attended; we do not see that as possible this year. See you at the 2021 Group Nationals.

URGENT - IBS Statement on COVID-19 and Registered Matches

News

With the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, please pay close attention to the IBS match schedule.  Some matches are being canceled due to local or state orders, while some are not if the range's jurisdiction has lifted ordes. Shooter of the Year points earned this year are still valid.  Please pay close attention to schedule updates.  If in doubt, please contact the match director for the latest information.  Match procedures may be modified by match directors to ensure social distancing.

IBS Factory Class Rules

News

To all of our IBS members,
In effort to strengthen and diversify the Long Range shooting disciplines the Long Range Committee and the IBS E-Board has developed two new classes to shooters other than the traditional Heavy and Light Gun categories. At all Ranges that choose to participate, we will introduce a Factory Class and a Tactical Class.(rules included)
It is our goal to offer these classes to shooters that cannot or do not find the traditional Heavy and Light Gun classes desirable. With the large surge in Tactical style shooting we felt we were leaving an opportunity to include these shooters unattended. Please review these rules and feel free to contact your local ranges or LR committee member with any additional questions.
Sincerely
The International Benchrest Shooters.
